To date, we (our FABULOUS group of 15) have lost more than 160 pounds.
Holy WOW, that's like a whole one of ME (according to my driver's license, don't judge).
Incredible, right?
Yah, I'm pretty proud of us!
And then on August 1st, I joined another FAB challenge, brought to us by my new friend, Anna (who BLOGS the funny like you wouldn't believe - go check today's post and laugh your ass off, she'll appreciate that you're burning cals AND reading her funny!).
So, yep, the 100 Miles in August Challenge. You can see how AWEsome we are doing at the bottom of each August post, as I keep track of all our miles. We've had some ups and downs among us, but that just makes for a bigger calorie burn - all those hills and valleys, ya know...
So THEN, I thought...oh noooooo...yah, I did. That I LIKED the miles thing SO much, that I would do a new miles challenge in September. I won't be talking about that for a couple more days, yet, but stay tuned, it's going to be A-MAZ-ING.
And THEN?
I joined ANOTHER challenge, introduced by my new friend, Barb (who's also ridiculously and fabulously responsible for the 1000 pound challenge). This one begins in September and is hosted by a great little site that offers all kinds of weight loss advice. You can check THAT out HERE! I'm not even sure what all this challenge entails, except it's another "weigh" for me to continue getting healthy AND I'm getting a couple of cool prezzies to help me do my best.
I DO love PREZZIES!
Which brings me to the LAST challenge I'm facing (on this seriously long challenge list, geesh).
A good friend of mine (LOVE her, believe THAT) invited me to join along with her and her son (LOVE that guy too) to lose some pounds before Thanksgiving. We each have a goal-pounds-down and if we all make our individual goals, it will come down to percentages, to determine the winner.
Because yah...
There is cold hard cash involved.
WooHOO!
What started out as the two of them, has now grown to the six of us, and we are PUMPED. We had our first weigh in, yesterday, and WhOA, the competition is stiff. I'll be sharing more about this 3 month THANKSGIVING challenge, as we go.
For now, just know that I am IN IT to WIN IT. With $580 on the line, who WOULDN'T give it their all.
AND THE BEST PART of ALL of these CHALLENGES I'm now FACING ^^^^^^^^I'm totally getting healthier, every day of the rest of my life.
How darn lucky am I?
Till next time!

I am a work in progress, always. Sometimes I stumble, but I always get back up. The hard part is knowing which direction to turn. If I go THAT way, I know I will fail. This time, I'm going THIS way. It's a new direction for me and I will NOT fail. Cheers!

I am still super sad I couldn't finish the 100 mile challenge, but even more excited you found a new challenge to take on. I demand that when we reach goal that we plan a trip to all meet up and have a girls weekend somewhere warm and fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh, we are TOTALLY doing that. Things are being bantered about, a trip to NY BL Ranch, amongst them. We'll see ;)
